Ingredients

350 ml frozen sweet cherries
1 pear, chopped into ½ inch pieces
30 ml honey
half an orange
118 ml water
15 ml chia seeds

Preparation

    1. Mix the cherries, chopped pear, honey, water and orange zest in a medium saucepan.

    2. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Once the mixture is bubbling, turn to medium-low and stir in the chia seeds.

    3. Cook, stirring frequently until desired texture is reached (thicker jam-type consistency), about 20-25 minutes. Let the mixture cool.

  1. Tips for this recipe

    • The longer you cook the jam, the thicker it will become. After 20-25 minutes it is a nice texture, and it will also thicken a bit more when it cools.

    • You can make this jam ahead of time and store it in the fridge for about 1 week or freeze for longer storage and defrost in the fridge when ready to use.
